Power of attorney: attestation route
Qatar was not listed as a party to the Hague Apostille Convention as at October 2024 [to verify]. Have the POA attested at the Embassy of India in Doha (directly or through its outsourced service provider).
After it reaches India, the POA must be stamped (adjudicated) within three months, and registered if it will be used to register a property transaction. See our guide Power of attorney from abroad.
Tips
- Documents not in English may need a certified translation.
- Some lenders ask for employer letters or bank statements to be attested or stamped by the bank.
- Keep scans of everything; send originals only when the lender asks.
Typical; lenders may ask for more. This is general information, not legal advice.
